I don’t know about you, but it was a week over here. I coped by drinking too much tea and swapping ridiculous memes and links with friends. Consider yourselves invited to the group chat, because a few of my faves made it in this week’s newsletter—including this important public service announcement.
Namaste.
Also, if you’re pressed for holiday shopping time these guides to the best Amazon gifts under $20 and best Amazon gifts under $50 are constantly being updated.
Smile-inducing:
Dolly Parton is a hero! She’s gotten free books into the hands of more than half the little kids in Ohio. Clap for her, please. And literacy.
Philly lady collects thousands of stuffed animals for seniors. She wants everyone to have a happy, cuddly holiday season. What a gem.
Puppy swims across the Hudson River, lives to tell his story. He’s training to be a service dog, but he probably deserves a spot in the next summer Olympics.
Eye-opening:
New Jersey used to be the caviar capital of the world. Not making this up, it’s real, and it’s not even North Jersey. Go figure.
The Amazon is getting cleaner. Like, so clean that these massive fish are able to live comfortably again. Also, if the picture in this article doesn’t haunt you for the rest of time… I dunno.
This meme. I feel seen.
What I’m loving right now:
This Stanley Travel Tumbler: I know, I know. Basic, right? I don’t care. It’s good. There’s a reason everybody loves these.
Cheapie, seasonal hand cream. It’s in my bag, in my car and on my desk. I bought 5 because why not? Throwback vibes with a non-greasy, very soft finish.
CUPCAKES! I know I said it before, but I meant it—CRUMBS cupcakes are So. Damn. Good. Not sure what they put in them, but probably magic.
Washable doormats. If you have kids or dogs, these are a good idea.
These affordable kitchen storage canisters from The Home Edit. I have granola, almonds and chia seeds in mine. Buying another set for all the loose little art supply things I have by my desk.
Sales I’m shopping right now:
Monogrammed Anthropologie mugs are $10. They’ll ship in time for the holidays and made like every best-of gift list everywhere. Why? Because genuinely they’re great. Ordered a bunch for the extended family and teachers.
Amazon and third-party sellers keep slashing prices. Black Friday never really ended, and these under $20, under $50 and under $300 guides are overflowing with goodies for everyone on your list.
Cozy Earth’s massive Online Warehouse Sale: Bestsellers are up to 55% off. Silk comforters are 55% off, PJs are 40-55% off and their game-changing lounge socks are 45% off. Seriously, they’re not the cheapest socks but they’re SO good that everyone needs a pair or three
Cozy Earth.
eos Lip Balm 8-Packs: They’re on sale for $11.99 at BJs and ship fast. They’re also delightfully seasonal (hello, peppermint and blackberry!). My kids use/lose lip balm like whoa, so this basically was made for me. Still not buying Costco pants.
Kate Spade mini backpacks are $65. Deal ends today, and yes, they’ll ship in time for the holidays.
Once Upon A Farm subscriptions are up to 15% off right now. Including this for all the new/new-ish parents out there!
Musings:
Would love to publish some of your recipes next week! Specifically hot chocolate and/or seasonal coffee recipes. Drop ‘em in the comments below and I’ll credit you however you’d like (and let me know if you have a good photo or two of your special concoction).
I have family coming to visit from overseas soon. They keep reminding me of this map.
Okay, since you posted the Sheng Wang clip, I have to highly recommend his entire Netflix special. 10/10, and I don't typically like stand-up.
Hi Bryce! Love your Extra Good Newsletter! I am going to email you some yummy Hot Chocolate recipes from Maple Hill Creamery! Have a great weekend!
